John came to ToyTalk from the Scalable and Secure Systems Research department at Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA. He received his MS and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine and is interested in computer and network security topics. He has worked on a broad range of projects that include implementation of a group signature scheme for Java Card smartcards and a secure program obfuscation scheme for Overo Gumstix SoC. These days, he dabbles in Android development and enjoys using Docker to build secure and scalable environments for AWS. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, snowboarding, exploring new foods and restaurants, and making new friends at Hackathons.
