For a long time, Grant lived in a cabin without electricity deep in the Cascade mountains. After a while, he thought it might be more interesting to be a freelance composer. So, he started writing music for commercials, documentaries and orchestral ensembles. Grant studied with the guy who wrote the music for John Hughes’ movies and the guy who invented modern electronic music; and he crafted interactive musical puzzles and wrote algorithms to generate Balinese Gamelan music. Eventually, Grant started working on social games. At ToyTalk, he is thrilled to help bring meaningful stories, through meaningful conversational interaction, to the world. For some reason, though, he is still obsessed with algorithmically generated Balinese Gamelan music.
